How do you keep an open plugin window from closing when touching a pan knob on the S1 or when clicking a fader in Pro Tools?
The only way I found to get around this is by shift clicking a plugin window every time I open one or by closing the EuControl software, which obviously makes the S1 not work.

Look at the pref on the general tab in EuControl that control this. The user guide will help too.

Thanks. I actually found it. It is the "Close windows on workstation when exiting" setting. I didn't try this one before because I thought it was specific only to closing the plugin window when closing the plugin from the S1. But apparently it also affects using plugins in the workstation as well.

I've unchecked the "Close windows on workstation when exiting" in Eucon prefs. I've noticed that touching any encoder on the S1 with close whatever plugin GUI is open at that time. I understand this behaviour would be desirable when selecting a new attention channel but why does it need to close unrelated plugin windows when a new channel is not "attentioned"?
Workflow example: I have a reverb plugin gui (inserted on aux) open and I'm adjusting parameters. To check my adjustments, I'm sending it varying amounts from different audio track sends. Every time I touch a rotary encoder on the S1, it closes the plugin GUI. If I remember correctly, this didn't happen on my D-Command. I realize I can uncheck the litte red swich on the top right of the plugin gui to stop this from happening but that means I will need to use the mouse to close that GUI eventually, instead of it going away when I finally attention a different channel. Is there a preference somewhere that changes this behaviour? Last edited by zakco; 06-05-2023 at 01:04 PM. |

What knob are you pressing, Pan? What do you have this set to? Open windows on Workstation when Editing. Try selecting just Plugins.

Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for...thanks Eddie! Edit: In that case, I was touching (not pressing) the S1 rotary encoder. |
