Pro tools on/off while recording :
While recording in protools today, The recording would suddenly stop for a few seconds, and then start recording again. (The actual recording Kept going, But there was no sound.) When I turned my system usage window on, I found the CPU had just Crashed and Droped to 0. When The sound resumed, All meters Came back to their usual levels. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with The Actual recording drop , but it does seem coincidental. Any help would be of great value. Thanks in advance.

Re: Pro tools on/off while recording :
Did the recording actually stop, or did the display go “on hold” for a few seconds? So, in other words, even though the display wasn’t keeping up, the recording was still intact?
What kind of video card? |

Re: Pro tools on/off while recording :
sw rec : The recording (wave / sound) stoped , however the recording itself continued. I'm sorry I can`t show you a picture of this, because it seems to have fixed itself. I also had a corrupted file of Synthcell somewhere on a track, which has since been uninstalled.
the Graphics card is Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630. Hopefully back without interruptions for good this time. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it! |

Re: Pro tools on/off while recording :
Mine used to “display freeze” like clockwork, every 30 seconds (WIN 10, PT 2022.x) even though audio kept recording. A new Nvidia driver seems to have solved it, but I’m just guessing on that. Later versions of PT didn’t exhibit the same behavior. Glad it isn’t causing anymore headaches!

Re: Pro tools on/off while recording :
This is a bit confusing. Is there actually a gap or blank in the audio when the recording stops? If all the audio is there(no blank space), then I also suspect a graphics problem(check to see if there is a driver update for the graphics card). In any case(and this may mean nothing) a 1.7GHz cpu is really very slow for Pro Tools, which is a very demanding program. You might consider trying Reaper, which is a very capable program, but is much less demanding on the computer(its free to try and cheap to purchase, too)
