Echo Mia W/ SPDIF also does RCA style SPDIF cause the same crashes as optical??

Has anyone used an ECHO Mia soundcard alongside the DIGI 001? I have one in another computer, but would like to use it to port VST stuff into Protools. Has anyone used it for this? I know it's supposed to be good, but I never got it working very well with my old computer (which was very slow)

Also does the RCA style spdif have the same problems as the optical spdif with making protools crash?
