Tracks randomly mute after session data import

I've finished the edit of 11 chapters of an audio drama and I'm now assembling them into a single session for mixing by first making each individual session have compatible track names, assignments etc. and then doing doing a session data import to the 'master' session, copying all audio files and dropping each chapter just after the end of the previous one.

Randomly, after importing a chapter, several tracks will be silent - not muted, not mis-routed, just nothing comes out. I won't detail all the import settings I'm using because if I undo the import and then do it again with the same settings, it will be fine.

It's frustrating because this is a 10 hour session with 59 speaking part tracks and 7 stereo music, ambiance and fx tracks. Some tracks have no audio for long periods at a time - so after every import I'm having to spot check all over the place to make sure every track's still working.

Since repeating the import with the same settings usually works (occasionally I have to try it twice) I'm guessing this is a bug rather than something I'm doing wrong. It's almost as if the tracks lose their voice assignments.

It's done now, so I can move on. But this is Part 1 of the book; part 2 is 17 chapters over 13 hours (which will be in a different session) and it's all going to happen again...
