Default Education lab needs non-admin user

We have a student lab where dozens of students use these computers. We would like to be able to restrict student access to certain admin privileges. These are non-networked Macs and students will login locally. The problem is I can't run Pro Tools as a standard Mac user nor as an Admin user with parental controls enabled(even if they are given access to everything they still become a "managed" user and PT won't launch.)

Pro Tools 8.0.4 MBox 2 mini
Mac OS X 10.6.3
