Hi!
Seems a cool product is arriving. Have any of you tested it? Is it a big leap from M3000? Seems it is a stereo version of system 6000 with just a single engine chip. Is it in the same level of PCM 91? Thanks

I own a System 6000 and, until recently, owned a PCM 91*, and they are very, very different. In my opinion it's not an issue of being "better," just different. The tc reverbs have un uncanny way to envelop a sound without drowning everything around them. I find the Lexicon sound to be "thicker," and - dare I say - creamier. While often desireable, this comes at the expense of having to be more careful with their use. * Not a negative - I sold the 91 to make room (physical and financial) for a 960. Hope this helps.

bought a TC6000 about 2 weeks ago and have been very glad to have it... Same as above, the reverb supports the sound rather than engulfs... I like it very much on snare, room, vox without making the sound swim in reverb to have a nice tone... I sold one of PCM90's to help fund it, but maybe I"ll keep the 2nd PCM90 to hvae something to compliment the TC6000, but overall I could be fine with just the TC6000...
Hopefully the TC4000 is more an exact reference design to the TC6000 (same algorithm and processing, and not some reduced algorithm in ASIC) just less engines and outputs... and hopefully, not as in what the PCM90 series was to the 480L |
