Thought this might be fun...
It strikes me that DAWs are roughly where operating systems were around 1997 or so. In analogy: Pro Tools: Mac Cubase: Windows Nuendo: Windows NT Logic: NeXT Reaper: BeOS Ableton Live: Amiga Ardour: Linux Sequoia/Samplitude/Sonar (I can never tell them apart ![]() Digital Performer: VMS ![]() Reason: Timex Sinclair ![]() ... ![]() |

Also that time frame was where Apple very nearly foundered. Figured out what made Apple great and recovered. And it wasn't the nuts and bolts hardware-as stylish as it was.

Pro Tools: Mercedes Cubase: BMW Nuendo: Porsche Logic: VW Reaper: Skoda Ableton Live: Daewoo Sonar: Honda Digital Performer: Toyota Reason: Mazda (MX5) ;-)
