I know this is probably a newbie question, but here you go anyway. I currently have the latest version of Pro Tools for os 9,but I heard that you can actually have X,and 9 installed on the same computer. Does this mean that I can switch between 5.2 and 6.0 ? Thanks.

yes, the only caveat is that if you double-click a session file from the finder in OS 9, it will try to open PT 6, and give you an error. You jut have to open your file from PT in the "open session"dialog

pro tools is not supported in classic mode. You must boot from OS 9,if your mac supports it.

i too have seen os 9 try to open pro tools 6 and get an error message when both operating systems are on the same computer.....probably only when they are installed on the same partition....anyways, as long as pro tools 5 is launched first...all you have to do is double click a session icon and it will open normally in PT 5....not even any need for the open session option, just launch pro tools first.....it's a pain, but then again, in my opinion, so is going to os 9 when we have such a beautiful operating system as panther
