Smile Advice for a great setup!!!!

say someone had $60,000 to spend on anything and that person wanted to buy nothing but audio recording equipment. What would be the best list of gear to buy? Not including mics, cables, computer. All or mostly under digidesign. I know i sound like a noob but its nice to see. Including the interface, mixer, mic pres, anything high end to get audio in the computer. What would you get?

More info on how you like to work, and what what kind of music might help. I would drop $10K on acoustic treatments(bet you didn't think about that). I would also drop$6K on some really good monitors and sub(Genelecs are at the top of MY list).
C24
Waves Mercury Native Bundle
003r
CPTK
8 chan of Vintech
8 chan of API
Apogee lightpipe interface
2 Distressors
2-1176

There's a hundred ways to go with that kind of cash. Some will say HD(and they might be right depending on the market). Some would say go Logic. There's a lot of homework to do to make the best choice for you and your market.

Sorry to be the party pooper but I myself hate seeing these types of post/threads, & I will tell u why... U are gonna get everyone who has gear or wants a specific piece of gear, wishlist or what they use & like when there is just toooooo much stuff out there... Thatz like asking the world, which food should I buy for the week... We all like what we like, in most cases b/c that is what we have & WE think it is the best thing happening... So put that into context with how many "WE's" there are

As Mykhal would say, "Just Sayin"

Yup...if he woulda' left mics on the list that woulda' added 10-20 posts at least, with the end result being every mic known to man being recommended.

With that kind of cash, you should definitely do your share of research. Get your basic requirements and then see where you could use some expansion.
