Default Audio burst at end of recorded file

I know this has been covered before, but i can't find any evidence of previous discussion.

When recording a file, I get a small burst of audio at the end of that file. it's not noise, but a very small (1/4 second?) piece
of the audio i was just recording.

Any ideas on a fix?

If you drop your keys into boiling lava, don't go after them, because, man, they're gone.
