Default Anyone using Ward Beck preamps?

I am trying to get rid of my surplus Hammond a-100/145 and one fellow wants to trade me two racked WB 460's and an akg 414. Read some interesting stuff on GS about these but would appreciate anyone on this forum who could chime in with any thoughts?

I've got a pair of 470A's at the studio, Racked by Dave Thompson before he retired from powering and racking Ward Beck Modules.

They're great, I use them on Electric guitars, the occasional overdub, and have shot em out, and picked them on a vocal or two in their day.

they're not "Worth Alot" Make sure you get that Hammond Appraised.

When you say a lot, could you be more specific, $200, 400, more, less?

As for the Hammond I've had it on craigslist for a year. It works perfectly and the Leslie has the Bob Schleicher EIS silent relay system. I started out asking 2300 and now I am asking 1500 with nibbles but no bites. The price on console hammonds has gone down in this area and even B3's can be had for less than 4k.

These 460s are also racked by Dave Thomas who used to live near by although I gather he has moved.

Thanks for the feedback

Brian

The seller says the mic is from the early 80's which I think would make it the first generation. Don't really know alot about these mics yet

I put a pair of Ward Beck M470A Mic Pre Raw Module - $1 No Reserve on e-bay last year, and they sold for less then $200.00 each (I think around $150.00)

Dave Thomas *Not Thompson, thankyou*, charged about $1k to Rack, and Power Supply a pair of units for us... So... Maybe $1400.00 value for them ? I assumed your hammond was worth way more then that (I don't know anything about Hammonds)

This might be a nice deal for you.
