Default Latch Record Enable Buttons question

I have Latch Record Enable Buttons unchecked so that I don't mistakenly erase one track while recording another. This works perfectly in that whenever I record-enable an audio track, a previously record-enabled audio track will switch out of record. And this works with MIDI tracks too, but NOT with MIDI and audio tracks together. In other words, if I have a MIDI track record-enabled and then forget to uncheck record on it before record-enabling an audio track, then I end up erasing my MIDI track.

Is there something I'm missing here? There has to be away to prevent this, no?

Thx.

Default Re: Latch Record Enable Buttons question

Been bitten by this more than once. I've usually been able to import the lost MIDI track from the most recent auto save, but have lost the MIDI a couple of times when working quickly.

I'd love it if the Latch Record Enable feature were changed to work across all audio, MIDI and instrument tracks.

Default Latch Record question

I have 'Latch Record Enable Buttons' deselected, and it works for Audio tracks that when you record enable an audio track, any other audio tracks that may have been record-enabled get deselected. This is good, but the MIDI tracks don't follow suit. If you leave a MIDI track record-enabled and then forget and record some audio, your MIDI track remains enabled and you erase your MIDI track. This is insane, and I can't tell you how many times I've lost MIDI track recordings because of this. Is there a way around this I haven't thought of? Thanks.
