Default Darn kids!!

Anybody know how to lock the keyboard on a Windows XP system? My two-year old (who's pouting in the corner as I type) keeps coming over and hitting buttons when I'm not looking and making weird stuff come up. I'm just afraid she's going to screw something up one of these days...I'm going be to frantically trying to find my Pro Tools icon and find it in the recycle bin with all associated files and drivers. You never know, these kids can be really accidentally resourceful when they're not trying to be.
Hey what about a thread for our kid pictures?

By the third kid with button pressing fingers, I got to know who is really in charge. I set the Power on key to hibernate and when they got too close, I'd hit the button.

That is so...cute.
Fortunately my boys are well grown (I'm an ancient fart), but this is what I'd do;
Pick up or just build a simple PC, just for them. Load it up with some kiddie software,
set them up in a corner, and ....watch them get busy

cheers,

When they get a little older, you'll appreciate them pressing buttons for you. My 11 year old daughter occasionally hits record for me while I'm doing a take.

That's great, Karel. My girl, Anna, just turned 14...sheesh... ...She's a budding bass player, believe it or not, but her real talent is in film, I think. She writes and directs the coolest little videos, using her friends as actresses. She's had Premier for quite a while, and our friend Bastiaan (fellow DUCer) answers her editing questions by IM sometimes.

You mentioned working with film/video...does Daisy show any interest in it as well?

Daisy wants to one day start up her own band. So I got her a gorgeous PRS copy for Xmas, and she's now taking lessons. Singing lessons are scheduled.

Premiere's a good program, and it sounds like you already have advice a-plenty, but if you need any more, just ask. And you've made me think: I was wondering about one day getting D a cheap video camera...

(Never had any of this when I was a kid!)

It's 9.30 here now. She'll be 'live here' tomorrow from 5 to take your technical questions.

You can also try hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL & ENTER. This will lock the PC.
