Can we get confirmation from Avid that this will be El Capitan compatible?

Yes, that was my question. Thanks for confirming. There doesn't seem to be any new value being added to HD that makes it worth the cost difference over vanilla.

Hmmmm… Track Commit. Cool, but technically not Track Freeze.

If it was Track Freeze, one would be able to unfreeze the rendered track, make changes, then re-freeze. From what I can see, this isn't exactly the case with Track Commit. It's essentially bouncing the track to another whilst retaining volume/send automation etc. albeit in an automated process. You still have to re-active the track to make changes and you're left with an ever growing list of committed clips in your session.

Hopefully a true Track Freeze will appear later on down the track.

Still, a step in the right direction.

It's just bounce in place. Nothing particularly innovative apart from the drag MIDI to audio track. Too bad there are still not improvements to the MIDI editing workflow, track folders, etc.

Agreed. Still nowhere as elegant as Studio One's Transform Audio - which is a God send for making small tweaks as you go. However, as you have said, it's a good start.

The lack of any developments for HD is disturbing and make the HD product less and less appealing (and the likelihood of many of us giving Avid money less and less of a probability)

Avid should just give-up and make ONE version and, of course, charge us all the same for it. Let the price difference be from the cards and interfaces we have to buy.

That will never happen as long as Avid is making and selling hardware.

That comparison table doesn't appear to be updated to reflect 12.3 yet.

However, if there are no HD only features in 12.3 that's me done with HD. Exactly what product value am I getting for 599 vs 99?
