What interface? Does the white have FW and USB? You could use a USB interface and FW external drive. What OS on the MacBook?

Give us some info, please!!

If the Macbook has a FIREWIRE port then Yes - you can use Mbox Pro, Digi 002 etc or use Mbox2 USB with a Firewire Audio Drive.

If the Macbook DOESN'T have a FIREWIRE port then you can't use a Firewire Drive for Audio and so the system is not Digidesign Supported.

As far as I'm aware, the new Macbook's don't have a Firewire port - Only Macbook Pro's.

If you can get an older / second hand Macbook with a Firewire Port then you're in business.....

Nope, grrr no FW, just USB, however I have had luck running sessions off a USB drive with my MBP on a few ocassions. Anyone have any experience at all with the late 2009 MB? OS wise it snow leopard, but im running that station with an mbox original so id have to downgrade to leopard.

Sorry, that is just not a good combination for Protools. I'm not saying that there is no way it will work but you may be headed for a lot of frustration. Here are your problem areas: (USB drive for your Audio sessions, Snow Leopard with Mbox1). I know you are considering downgrading the OS to Leopard but that is not necessarily as easy as it sounds. What version of Protools 8 are you trying to run?
