Converting a Mono Track to Stereo with Pro Tools?
Besides creating a duplicate track and copying them both to a stereo track, does anyone know how to convert a mono track to a stereo track with Pro Tools LE?
Thanks! |

Re: Converting a Mono Track to Stereo with Pro Too
The opposite is easy, - but what you are asking, I for one don't see how you could possibly create a true stereo image with individual pans etc. from a mono track. Maybe someone else knows better. But if you are talking about a single voice/instrument mono track you can get a good stereo image using ADT (artificial double tracking). There is a good recipy for this using the short delay II (mono/stereo) plugin on your track in the "Rubber Soul" thread in this forum. I tried it on guitars and vocals, it sounds great.
Hope this is of use, or that you get more advice. Cheers! |

You might also try sending the track to two aux tracks. Using an eq, you can try to isolate a different instrument as much as possible on each track, then pan that. It probably won't sound great, but it could seperate parts of the track anyway.
