Default S3 only connects if OSX network device is reset

Every time I turn on my S3 I have to go to OSX sys prefs > network and click my USB network adapter to make in inactive and then active.

My setup is mainly using a S3 > switch > USB-C network adapter (Anker) > M1 MBP (I'm running an M1 laptop on Ventura 13.6.7).

Not the end of the world as it's relatively easy to fix but wondering what might be causing this glitch?
