PT 6.x as a MIDI Sequencer

How is ProTool 6.x as a MIDI sequencer compared to say Digital Performer or another other software sequencer packages?

Would like to be able to run one program such as ProTools that could do everything (in a perfect world)-both audio and MIDI, instead of have to keep tabs on two different programs such as ProTools and Digital Performer.
