Microphone/PreAmp Question

Hi All!

I'm looking into purchasing a Telefunken Elam 251. I contacted them today and they recommended that I NOT use a tube mic pre along with this mic

I really need the right mic and mic pre combination to fit me as a singer. I've been hearing a ton of rave reviews about Dakking pres, but now I'm confused about the right pre to use with this mic(if I still go with it).

Any professional recommendations???
