Default Digi 002 Monitor and Main outs- the deal?

I have Roland powered monitors hooked up to the monitor section - can I use some passive speakers on the 002 "main" L and R outs ? thanks

There is no volume control for the main outs and it is probably not enough power there to handle anything serious.

Of course you need an amp to power the speakers.

i have the monitor outs of my 002 hooked up to my main nearfields in the control room. main out 1-2 go to a small behringer mixer then to a second set of reverence monitors in the control room. this gives me volume control of the second set of monitors...

No, since they are passive, they require amplification. You can run line level out via sends 3-8, also double the monitor out via the RCA line outs.
