Question iMac 2.8, Sys 10.5.5, LE 7.4.2 NOT WORKING

I have a new iMac 2.8GHz with Leopard 10.5.5 and ProTools LE 7.4.2. I have the Rack 002 plugged into my iMac via Firewire. When I turn on my mac with my Rack turned on, my mac will not start; it hangs on a blue screen. As soon as I turn off my Rack, my computer will start up. However, my Rack will work on my old Powerbook sys 10.4 with Protools LE 6.9. But I got this new iMac to run Protools LE. Are they not compatible? I tried a different firewire cable to see if that was the problem, but it still won't work.

Yes, I've tried with the Rack on first, and with it off then turning it on after the iMac is running. When I do that I get the message, "Can't find digi hardware"

DigiDesign told me it might be specific to the iMac 2.8GHz running Leopard 10.5.5.

Anyone else have a Rack 002 and an iMac 2.8GHz with Leopard 10.5.5. and ProTools LE 7.4.2 that it works on?

This problem is worse than expected. The problem came from the Rack 002. It blew out the firewire port on my mac. So I had the firewire port replaced on my mac not knowing what blew it out. Then hooked up my Rack and it still didn't work again, so I thought the firewire port of the Rack did not work, and got that repaired by you, but meanwhile I already tried it with my imac that had the firewire port replaced once. Then thought it's all ok so hooked it up again, only to now find out that the Rack blew out the firewire port of my mac twice now. This was before I sent it to Digi for repair. So it'd be a good idea for ProTools to find out why the Rack 002 was able to blow the firewire port of 2 of my imacs. So the only way I can connect my Rack and have it function is by cabling its 400 firewire cable to the back of my LaCie external hard drive, then connecting my LaCie external hard drive to my imac via it's 800 firewire cable. I'm afraid to connect the Rack to my 400 firewire port on my mac again. I can't afford to blow the imac's firewire port again! By connecting it through the hard drive, will I lose speed or anything?
