mbox showing up as mbox2 and mbox2 pro

i have installed 7.3 but noticed since 7.1 that my mbox is showing up as an mbox2 in system prefs and now there is also an mbox2 pro icon there too. both dont connect when i click on them but pro tools runs fine and i can still access the mbox prefs from the sound tab in system prefs.


should i try and fix it or leave it since there seems to be no real problem.

whats the advantages of menu's inside the mbox icon in system prefs? is there summat im missing?

The system preferences panes for Mbox 2 and Mbox 2 Pro are installed as part of Pro Tools 7.3. They show up in system prefs regardless of whether any device is attached. There's no problem here.

I am just curious. I have a Macbook Pro 17 with an original Mbox. The Mbox 2 and Mbox Pro icons show up in the prefs as you say but my mbox does not show up in the sound prefs. Any idea why and how to fix it? I am running 7.1.1 but also have 7.3.
