Default setting default inputs and outputs

I've looked in the preferences and can't find this: how do set the default i/o to 'whatever' (eg. when you create a new track it will come up with outputs set to analog 1/2)

Thanks

hi icouri
You go to i/o set-up on the top bar - i think under Hardware menu - and you have a grid onto which you can define how channels on the 001/002 correspond to the tracks in pt.
You wouldnt change the 1-2 w/ever, but you 'd change the in/outs corresponding to it.
I think.

I dont think it is possible.
The way I see it is that a new track will default to input: the lowest analogue input number not in use, and output: analogue 1/2.

A workaround would be to create a session template with empty tracks set to the ins/outs you want, and then to duplicate those tracks when you need to.

You make a new path in the i/o set-up in the Set ups menu. It stays like that unless you re-default it. Check for yourself
You just re-assign different i/o on the digi001. I.e. 1-2 can stay as 1-2 in PT , BUT they are coresponding to whatever you want on the hardware i/o.

I just checked Attanasi , you’re right.
You actually just have to shift the order from top to bottom of the I/O setup list.
Whatever is at the top is first.
