SOS PT Ultimate 2019.6 stopped working _ and cannot install again

Hi guys, SOS

Out of the blue PT stopped working and wont start again.

I install again, but everytime the install crashes

Tells me to contact softw vendor eetc...

I also notice that Ilok manager wont work after i try to install PT

I install the lates ilok manager, and then try to install PT again with same result. - Ilok manager shows up with this message after I try to install :

Software Component Unavailable
A background component required for iLok License Manager seems to be unavailable. If rebooting does not fix this issue, please visit iLok.com and download and run the latest License Support installer.

Hi sounds like a pace service or component is being blocked. Any antivirus or realtime protection running ? Keep in mind that having them running is not recommended if they are.

no nothing at all..
Just buisness as usual...
All of a sudden PT stops working, wont start.. I reboot,, still nothing..
I reinstall, and that crashes
Then I notice that ILM has crashed, I go onlien get the lates ILM install..
It works just fine..
Then I try to install PT again with same result.

Ok what about yout interface ? can you try to load PT while pressing N to select again your audio interface ?

PT isnt installed .. THe installer allw crashes
I have tried older versions..
just WONT install..

So are you renstalling from a downloaded installer ? Or new download ? Maybe trying a new download if not ?

I saw this and reported to Avid when 2019.5 first came out. Nothing to do with Antivirus in my case, just seemingly one big Virus... Avid Link. I cannot recall the exact solution, but it was also kind of a bogus message And stuff often just worked anyhow. If you are doing all this through Avid Link.... Uninstall that (Run its uninstaller).

You may just find things work if you try to run Pro Tools (Are you really sure it never installs?) . If not, I would try to download the Pro Tools installer directly from your Avid.com account. Uninstall ILM and pro tools (drag the app to the trash) and install Pro Tools from that installer you downloaded then reinstalling ILM. Still stuck you might need to fish around for partial broken installs of stuff... or roll back to a backup.

Nice to know darryl, and that is why i always remove link from startup or remove completly after installing everything
