MP3 Demo Challenge/Response for PT 6.4 WinXP

Hi,

My PT 6.4 gets this pop up every once in a while offering me MP3 if I can give the appropriate response. How do I get the appropriate response?

Did you purchase the MP3 option? If not, go to the Plugins folder and find&remove the MP3 files(so you won't get the message again).

C:>Program Files>Common Files>Digidesign>DAE>Plugins

Hi,

I just bought the MP3 authentication code from the Avid store and it gave me a string of words. I put those words into the RESPONSE box of the Pro Tools MP3 Demo Option and I get an Invalid Response Message after hitting the Next button. Any tips for this?

Hi, I noticed I had over 300 views and no responses to my previous thread. I checked the suggested links at the bottom of my similar thread but no solutions there. Am I in the wrong forum for this question:

- PT LE 6.4 ... WinXp ... and here's the big thing; the CD drive is disconnected
- want to Bounce to MP3
- window pops up with challenge question
- two days ago I bought the MP3 Option code for 19.95 from Avid
- put the code in, a string of words
- still get error message back saying Invalid Response
- have checked and only have mp3.dll and not mp3demo.dll in appropriate folder

Suggestions are to put my PT disk in and custom select Add MP3 Option; but the CD player doesn't work (as stated above)

I notice that I have a Pro Tools directory in my computer and it has a Set-Up file (.exe) ... I don't want to start that up in case it wipes out my current installation.

Thouhts or tips are appreciated.

Bounce as wave and use WMP or iTunes to make the mp3 version

I have this file ... IF i go ahead and run it (off a USB stick), is there any chance:

- it will screw up my current beautifully working (except for MP3 conversion) PTLE 6.4

- will it even work on an upwards version?

I have bought the Option code words from Avid a couple of days ago but do not have a working CD player in the PT computer and it is not on the web
