Avid Core Audio not working with only Quicktime, iTunes, browsers, etc

Hello,

Has anybody experienced this weird circumstance?
I'm using Pro Tools HD 10.2 with TDM HD1 in Mac Pro(2009 Nehalem)
with OS 10.6.8
Everything was working perfect until today.
I came to my studio today and as usual I booted up all my system.
I tried to listen some music on youtube and sound didn't come out.
I checked Mac's system sound preference and made sure
digidesign HW( HD ) is selected.
I checked with itunes and quicktime and no sound came out.
so I went back to Mac system sound preference and Line out is selected..
I kept selecting Digidesign HW (HD) but everytime I came back to sound
system preference window, different output is selected.
I ran the digicheck, all passed ok.
Pro tools runs fine and audio comes out.
Logic runs fine and audio comes out.
It seems only Mac system sound is not connecting to avid core audio.

Is there anyway I can just reinstall avid core audio driver?
Hope I don't need to uninstall whole pro tools and reinstall..
Pro Tools and other DAWs are working fine.
Anyone experienced this circumstance?

no one have any insight on this issue i'm having?

today I tried clean uninstall pro tools HD 10.2 and re-installed it.
and tried deleting related preference files
but still having this problem..
as you can see a captured photo below,
even though I selected Digidesign HW (HD) for system sound preference(on right)
the little speaker icon doesn't move to PCI Digidesign HW (on left side) on audio device setup window.

Should I ask Apple for help dealing with this issue..

Hi ,
Were you able to solve the problem , in my system preference / audio
the digicore audio just blinks and i cannot choose it , any help
greatly apreciated, thanks
