Default crash during install of PTHD8

now I can't even get the machine to boot even in Safe mode!

the DP g5 had been freshly updated to 10.5.8 and had been stable. then yesterday, when I inserted the PTHD8 install DVD, it all was going fine until near the end when the fans went into high gear and the mouse froze.

I'm not sure how to proceed, if proceeding/recovering is possible. anyone have any ideas or advice?

Default UPDATE Re: crash during install of PTHD8

Resetting nvram on a subsequent boot attempt fixed the issue. I'm back in business!
