Challenge and Response!?

Slow the cartwheels down a bit ....

I registered the MPToolkit on the DIGI site. There is an activation code on a card here, yet when I launch PT I get this "Challenge Response" dialogue.

There is no opportunity to enter the activation code.

Any suggestions?

MPT should be authorized on your iLok. After you register, you'll likely need to download the auth to your iLok thru their website...

It keeps asing me to "Insert Registration Card" .... ???

.... but there is no slot for a registration number neither is there one for an activation code ....

The registration card that it is referring to are the little tiny sim cards that are possible to insert into the ilok. It sounds like either you do not have the ilok installed or you are trying to use a plugin that you do not have an authorization asset in the ilok for.

Where in the startup process is it prompting for this card? Which plugin?

Just registered my DV Toolkit 2 today via Ilok, and it was INSTANT. Took all of 3 minutes. Much simpler than the challenge-response method, and if you ever have to re-install, your authorization is already in place.

Let's see now .... BTW, this will be a long one ....

I click on the PT icon, a 4" square screen with the DIGI logo pops up and asks me to either "Authorise" the MPToolkit, or "Quit". I click "Authorise" and the next page gives me the option to either use the "Registration card" or use an "Alternative method". Based on your post, I opt to "use the alternative method" and click "next", since I didn't get the simm cards you described.

The next page asks me to choose between "Internet activation" and "Manual activation". Internet activation has been disabled, so I choose "Manual activation" and click "next".

The next page presents me with the "Challenge/Response" dialogue, and here is were I get totally lost. The upper section of this dialogue asks me to 1) "Copy Challenge", 2) "Save Challenge", 3) Insert Response, while the lower section asks me to "Read Response" .... from where?!

Clicking "Back" takes me to the first page. The "Authorise" button takes me straight to the "Challenge/Response" page again, so I go "Back" and press "Quit", and the same events unfold for the Noise Reduction plug-in. Hybrid asks me to either buy(!?) or quit, Smacl! LE and SouldReplacer each ask for authotisation. I Quit these and PT complets the launch process.

Meanwhile, it's either that I don't understand how the iLok site works, or that they are not consistent over there. I am not always able to view the liscenses which are installed on the iLok. I may be missing something .... but I need to start trying this stuff. I don't remember which, but at least one of the plugs has a fourteen-day linmit. Which is another issue ....

The ads say "plugins included", and in some cases "LE version', but I don't remember seeing anything about "limited time" versions. Hmmmm ....

Pretty straight-forward... If you don't see your licenses, you should ensure your account settings are up-to-date. If all else is good, contact DIGI to provide your license(s)...

What's interesting is, that I can see all the transactions pertaining to M-Powered on iLok.com but none for LE. Meanwhile, LE is sitting, smiling happily on the system, and working .... minus the plugs I mentioned, of course.
