Routing Mac G5 audio(itunes) thru Digi002Monitor

Hi.

Is there anyone who can assist me with re-routing the audio played on my computer thru to the monitors on my Digi002? I have started by trying to configure the AMS on my Mac OS X 10.3.9

In my AUDIO MIDI SETUP window, under MIDI Devices there is an icon for my MIDI Interface and all eight(8) of the ports are numbered. Connected to port #8 is the icon for my YAMAHA keyboard,reflecting what is actually connected at port #8.

The second device icon represents the Digi002 unit itself. It has two ports. Port #1 has both a MIDI In and MIDI OUT, however port#2 on the Digi002 device icon has only a MIDI OUT. The actual/physical routing of the MIDI IN & OUT from my Digi002 connects to port #1 on my MIDI Interface. However when I attempt to drag the onscreen MIDI IN & OUT lines to the #1 MIDI In & OUT ports on the Interface icon it does not connect/attach. Therefore in the AMS window, there is no direct connection from the ports on the Digi002 icon to the MIDI interface icon.

I then created another device with one IN & OUt MIDI port and connected the MIDI In & OUT lines from the Digi002 icon to the MIDI In & OUT ports of the newly created device. Finally I routed another MIDI IN & OUT line from the newly created device to port #1 on the MIDI Interface which does connect onscreen.

What am I doing right or wrong?

I should have mentioned that when I go to the Apple/System Preference/Sound/Output, window on my G5, I am unable to select/choose the Digidesign line. I am receiving a message that says " The selected device has no output control" A similar message is in the INput window.

You should select the Digi HW in the Sound control panel - that message is normal. After selecting, make sure that the Digidesign Core Audio Manager is launched and showing 'connected' before launching iTunes and you should get playback through your 002.
