Templates Disabled

The templates do not populate and I cannot select "create from template" when beginning a new session. It is disabled. I've had templates that worked before, but recently updated to 2024.10 Protools. I'm on a Mac with Sonoma.

When I try to create and save a new template, I get this message

Could not save as "Untitled-1" because Assertion in "/Users/autobld/gitlabci/PT/release/2024/r3/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Sys/Sys_FileLoc.cpp", line 162.

Anyone seen this and can help?

There’s a prompt when you install Pro Tools that asks to be allowed access to your documents folder. If you didn’t allow this then it won’t be able to access your templates. Reinstall Pro Tools and make sure to pay attention for this prompt.

I tried uninstall and reinstall. It never asked for access to the Documents folder. I do see that my Documents folder offers read and write privileges to all users. Anything else to try? Thanks.

Are you the admin of the computer you're installing on?

Yes, I'm the admin, but sometimes it seems to treat me as if I'm not. I can't tell if I'm operating as a user or the admin when I try to make settings changes.

So It sounds like the path to your session templates folder has been lost or something

The session templates folder should be in Documents > Pro Tools > Session Templates
