Ouch! I missed the boat about your mention of the C-400…(I’m a little more awake now lol) I see now—trying the C400 with the new PT! Ah ha! I might try that later just to see. (But I can also say that when I opened up the new PT last night, whoa! it looked totally different from what I’ve been used to, and that in itself will take some getting used to) I’m sure that when I finally get it working I’ll eventually get used to it and at some point feel like “oh that wasn’t so bad” LOL

Right I thought you might want some time just to see what is new in Pro Tools, and again even if the C400 driver does not work out you can probably get Pro Tools working just for audio playback using the Windows sound devices (but the C400 is a much better way to try to go).

Pro Tools has changed some, it has a lot of very nice new features, like say disk cache, track freeze and commit, folders tracks, multi-channel/surround sound support, and more recently lots of changes related to MIDI and VIs are starting to appear. Some of those later ones may cause some to cause head scratching if you are using MIDI. They do for me but I'm a MIDI dummy. OTOH Pro Tools has a consistent lovely nice feel throughout it's existence that hopefully makes moving to this new stuff not too hard.

You got that right—if you could see what I’ve normally seen with the MP9, I think you’d see how it can make my old brain screwy! LOL (let me see if I can attach a pic of a track I have pulled up now&#128518
I guess my age shows in other ways too (and I truly hate it&#129396 for example my hands shake more now and most times holding a drill and trying to start a screw can be torture. And patience has worn thin, get aggravated too easily. (But usually laugh at myself moments later) Younger days I could spot a fly at 40 yards 😉 but now have to have glasses. Don't see as well at night. (Scary sometimes) And then…I hate the thoughts of buying a NEW computer—so much crap on them that I don’t need or want. That’s why I usually buy trusted refurbished ones. Or one day I may have one custom built for me. My PT MP9 version was my first venture into computer recording and I dreaded it. But I managed. And still today, I don’t use probably 3/4 or more of its capability. I’m a pretty basic user. Sometimes I wished one could buy the very basics, and then buy more extras, but I realize I’m not the norm, so get over it. LOL
Thanks again for listening and understanding.

Sweetwater’s Support Tech has been great…she’s been in touch with the manufacturer to dig deeper…turns out they’re sending me a replacement unit—shipped out today with expedited shipping, so should have it on Monday. Here’s hoping…😊

Fantastic, thanks for giving us this update. And yes buying though Sweetwater or similar higher-end dealers is a great idea.
