Hey guys, I recently got a new CPU, and had to re-install ProTools, which is working perfectly. However, before I was able to play Track 1 , and play my mpc2000 into Track 2 (without actually recording on the track)...For some reason now, the only way I can play a track(that already has music), and play live on another track is to actually record on the song....Why is that.....Hopefully I am making my self clear, but to sum it up...I want to be able to record a drum pattern on track 1, and play w/ the keyboards on track 2 (while listening to track 1) without actually recording on to track 2........please help......thanks in advance

two things...
1) if you want to do this using an "AUDIO TRACK" you need to turn the toggle the Auto Input Monitor Setting to "Input Only Monitor". It should be under the Operations Menu. After doing that, record enable the Track 2 and make sure your input selection is correct. 2) Another way to do it is to use an "AUX TRACK" instead of an "AUDIO TRACK".
