Since you didn't purchase Pro Tools HD 11 on the Avid store, there is no record of where or when the activation code was originally provided.
If you bought this from an authorized Avid reseller in the last couple of weeks, you should check with them to clarify what you bought. There are no hardware registrations of any kind in your Avid account for your name or email address, so from what I can find, this was not part of a Pro Tools HDX or Pro Tools Native system. Nor does it appear to be an upgrade. It looks like you have a permanent license for Pro Tools HD 11 which does not include free upgrades to future versions of Pro Tools that include new features. So your options would be what is on the Pro Tools Upgrade FAQ You would have through the end of 2015 to decide whether you want to upgrade your current license to an upgrade/support plan that includes new feature releases and advanced support. Your Pro Tools HD 11 license would continue to authorize Pro Tools HD 11 (and 10) permanently, regardless of what you decide to do in the next year. |

Not to hijack, but I have a question that is in line with this new thread.
I have a HDX system. Last year I bought an upgrade to 11HD for $599 from my dealer. I have not activated this yet as I have not had a need or use for it since 99% of the LA film post community is still running 10HD. So I have an activation code waiting for me when I am ready to actually use 11HD. If I activate this code before the end of the year, will I be eligible for the extended ASS coverage? If i activate this code next year, will I be eligible for even just 1 year of ASS coverage? any insight from the mods would be most welcome. thanks.

Hi
I think this will apply to you ( I can double check that for you ) Q. I just purchased an upgrade to Pro Tools 11 or Pro Tools HD 11. Do I have to purchase an additional upgrade already? A. No, you are already on the most current version (11) of Pro Tools so there is no need to purchase an additional upgrade now. However, in order to keep your perpetual Pro Tools software license current you will need to purchase an upgrade/support plan by the end of 2015, or sooner if you want access to the next feature release. I feel like this applies to people using 11HD currently before the upgrade plan roll out.
I on the other hand have not been using 11HD. It's not activated even. I'm not sure why I couldn't be considered eligible for some ASS coverage. In the past I have received amnesty for software bought and not activated if another upgrade became available during that time. Again I have a registered system and bought the upgrade from a legit dealer. It seems like users in my situation should get some slack on this. The upgrade was made for the same amount as the current offering. If there is anyway to check on this, it would be much appreciated. thanks.

Hi, I'm getting more confused the more I look at this. Is there a way to verify my status?
I bought an upgrade/crossgrade to PT11 on 10/13/2014 (from an authorized reseller) and activated it the same day. I do not see any indication in my Avid account status of support (not sure if I should see anything though) So from the Knowledge Base FAQ: " ... A. All Pro Tools upgrades and crossgrades activated starting October 10, 2014 receive an Avid upgrade/support plan. Software upgrades and crossgrades that include this plan are now available from the Avid Store ..." This would indicate my inclusion in the u/s plan; having a 10/13 crossgrade activation - unless availability was "exclusively" from the Avid Store, not stated in the FAQ but I (may have incorrectly) gleaned from: Quote:

Ok, according to the snip from the faq above, if I activate my upgrade code, it will include the ASS.
