Default Instant Kernal Panic, Curtain of Death - Drives refused

Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz running 10.4.10 / PT 7.3.1

If I plug the Mbox2Mini into either USB port I get an instant curtain of death. On my Powerbook 1.25 running 10.4.10 it works fine.

If I plug my Mbox2Pro in I have no problem getting PT to start but it refuses to allow any drives to be set as Record drives.
The same drives work fine on the PPC Powerbook and boot as Record Drives.

I have trashed prefs and Databases - to no avail

Any ideas?

Have you tried to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools yet?

Did you, at any point, have any other versions of Pro Tools installed on this machine?

Default Re: Instant Kernal Panic, Curtain of Death

I too have this problem. I get a crash each and every time I plug in my brand new MBox 2. I am using a new MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz 15" machine with 2GB of RAM. I uninstalled ProTools with the exception of my plug-ins. I cleaned out all preferences and databases as well. I restarted my machine. Just to check, I then plugged the MBox 2 in without ProTools software installed - kernel panic again. I am considering returning the MBox if I don't get to the bottom of this soon. In case you want to read the log, here it is... In all of its boring-ness. Perhaps a Digi engineer can sort this out?

Thanks.
