Default Clipping no matter what

I recorded something today with a keyboard and I had absolutely no problem. Hours later I return to my computer and open pro tools. I open a previous session to record vocals, but the second I enable the track to record, the levels go up and clip and I hear a bad sound and hissing. I try plugging the mic into the 2nd input (Mbox 2) and the same thing happens. So then I try plugging my bass into the DI of the 1st input and I still get hissing and a constant clipping when I record-enable the track. I plug it into input 2 DI and the same thing happens. What's going on? The input sensitivity of both inputs is turned all the way down. I tried using the pad and it didn't do anything. I've recorded successfully before- I don't know what's going on. I tried it in other sessions and new sessions and the same thing kept happening. Help anyone! Please!

Did you try shutting down and re-booting everything? SOunds like something freaked out but you need to try to figure if it was the Mbox, the computer or some driver issue. Post all your system specs to give the DUC a fighting chance at helping.
