Default Time Compression and Expansion Tool

I'm a fairly new user and I have a question about the TCE tool. I have Pro Tools LE 6.9 and an OO2 Rack and I'm running it on a Windows PC. I have tried to use the tool a few times with guitar and bass. But when I stretch an audio file even just very slightly the sound becomes warbled and unuseable. I know it should work better than that. I tried adjusting some of the parameters in the plugin window but I don't really know what to do. Can somebody help? Tnanks.

Hi telp.

Try searching the duc with either "TCE tool" or "time compression". plenty of good info. use the quotes.

I have also found it to make crap sounds on audio tracks. Not so bad on MIDI tracks. I mostly use to make quick click tracks. I recorded 4 bar clicks at several different BPM's and moved them to a folder of their own. When I need a click, I "import audio to track" and select the nearest BPM file to the new session. Once it is imported and shows in its new track, I use TC-E to match it to the grid, then hit ALT-R and repeat it enough times for my song(usually about 36 times. Instant click track that plays fine in Low Latency mode.

You know, that's just weird. When did acid come out, 6 or 7 years ago? Acid v1.0 still seems to sound better than 90% of the algorithms out there - and it did(does) it in real time. Is the SF algorithm just that much better than everyone elses?

For looping sources that don't have strong transient, like strings or pads, Acid is still king as far as I can tell.
