Default mbox1 AND Project Mix question

hey guys. i have a purchase question. i have the project mix board from m-audio and i've been using one of my friends ilok keys and pro tools installation. so i guess we kinda fell out or something and he wants to take his ilok key back.

now. theres a used mbox 1 at the local sam ash for $150. the question is, should i (and is it a smart buy) to get the mbox and use the project mix as i always been doing. or should i just get the m powered for $250 and call it a day?

thanks in advance....

You really wouldn't be able to; if you got the MBox you would be limited to 2 I/O period. The Project mix inputs and outputs do not work in LE (the software for the mbox). The only thing that the Project mix would be good for in that situation is as a MIDI controller.

You best bet is just to get your own MPowered and call it a day.

yeah there's no point of gettin an mbox for 150.. i would suggest to buy the mpowered pro tools and if you're a student, go to www.academicsuperstore.com and purchase it there.. it's only 150 (same price for the used mbox) and you're get the full i/o with pt7 and i lok... that's where i got mine from and i'm happy with it! well good luck dude!
