Bounce or export? dithering?
Hello!
I suppose this is a easy question...but i cannot find it in past forums: I´m working on a bass line in my pro-tools (m-box2,24 bits session, wav) and i have to send the track to another person working in 16 bits session with logic to mix a demo. i suppose i have to do dithering? What is best option: -Bounce to disk with dither in RTAS? -Apply dither in audiosuite on the audio file then export? -Only export the audio file converting to 16 bits?,without dithering? Any idea? Re: Bounce or export? dithering?
well my guess is that if you have tracked the bass part with enough signal and have a pretty limited dynamic range (i.e. its for a Rock or louder Pop song) you probably won't need to worry about Dither.
P.S- I would consolidate the region into one continuous file and "Export Selected File(s)" choosing the proper output, in this case 16 Bit/44.1kHz, Mono.
