Carl Z - You should download the installer again. It seems like your current installer is corrupted somewhow.

FSuarez - Please follow the 'General Troubleshooting' steps in the sticky at the top of this forum, specifically the sections on deleting your database and preference files.

Please let us know if this resolves your issues.

The 6.9 update took care of the "protools has unexpectedly quit" issues I was having under OS 10.3.8, for those of you who were having the same problems with 6.7 r2.

I know 10.3.9 is unsupported, but just to confirm that in my case it works with 6.7 but NOT with 6.9 - not at all!

I have two powerbooks, both were running 6.7 under 10.3.8 ok but with frequent error messages ( cpu holding off, increase/decrease buffer size etc) which I hadn't got with 6.4.

Installed 6.9 on one powerbook, running ok with 10.3.8.

Installed 10.3.9 on the other powerbook, running ok with 6.7. .....Updated this computer to 6.9 and PTLE would not start at all.
Tried all the trouble shooting tips in the sticky, then a clean uninstall/re-install from disc then 6.9 updater again: still the same thing - nothing. Now I'm back with 6.7 on 10.3.9.

Thanks. I read here (at the Forum) to repair the disk permissions (Disk Utility) and try it with success.

PD. I meant from 6.7 to 6.9 (not 6.8)

6.9 Totally Killed My machine!!!!

So OS X 10.3.9 is not supported (not documented on the info page still) so why the hell did they release it. I tried uninstalling and reninstalling 6.7 and now 6.7 won't load up either. I'm dead in the water with projects due and no system - I have to go into the studio tomorrow to do some simple things I should be able to do with my LE system. Interestingly enough on a machine i'm running OS X Tiger on, 6.9 boots up and opens files but won't qualify any drive internal or external at sutable for playback or recording - even if i turn off journaling.

Anyone know of a workaround for the 6.7-6.9 10.3.9 issue other than going back to 10.3.8 or does anyone know if Digi even cares about this issue and is working on it? Craig Linnsen @ Apple - if you can hear me .... you really can't let this stuff happen, I know its digi's fault but you got to not let them do this crap it kills confidence in Apple reliability.

Well, the changes to the I/O settings page in 6.9 seem to have broken the audition output selection.

On my system, only the analog outputs are available to be selected as audition paths. The ADAT and S/PDIF outputs of the 002R are not listed (I use the S/PDIF and ADAT outputs almost exclusively).

Yes, this is a bad oversite.
So far it's the only problem I have seen with 6.9 but a problem none the less.
