Default Re: Sampling Rounding Bug and Workarounds - Pro Tools 2020.3

Hey All,

It's been a while. I noticed that Pro Tools 2022.6 was just released and read the release notes.

Did Avid finally fix the plaguing Sampling Rounding issue for midi?

Notes:

MIDI

-Incorrect overlap shadows on MIDI clips are no longer displayed at session open (PT-279272)

-MIDI notes should no longer disappear when copy/pasting MIDI clips (PT-278475)

-Nudged MIDI clips should no longer incorrectly merge into other clips under certain conditions, and will correctly overwrite instead (PT-267098)

-When clips are edited in Grid mode, the correct MIDI notes at the clip boundaries should now be included (PT-261344)

-MIDI clips and notes should no longer shift positions and lengths when duplicated in the timeline (PT-254223)

-Dragging MIDI clips should no longer elongate them by 1 sample, which was causing notes at the start of the following bar/beat to be overwritten (PT-245969)

-There should no longer be MIDI notes that do not respond to editing commands, nor copy when dragged instead of being moved (PT-242595)

-Copy/Pasting or duplicating a MIDI clip should no longer result in the length of some of the notes being changed (PT-236760)

-MIDI notes no longer erroneously move when selecting clips (PT-273060)

Looks like I'll be doing some extensive testing with a Trial. If anyone else can provide some testing, I would kindly appreciate it. Fingers crossed!

Wow! If this is true, I'll reinstate. Long overdue, but critical to integrated music composition in Pro Tools. Fingers crossed!
