Your Front side bus is slow, half the speed most systems these days. That would be 1 problem. Also dissable your network connection when running PT and close MSN and Anti-virus as it cheks all files created slowing you down even more. But the biggy is the FSB.

You should get a "Good" to "Excellent" with thre DELL XPS 600 for those of you intesterested in this configuration. Definately my recommendation for DELL DAW. But it is almost double the price
I'm looking to get a new DAW and was thinking about getting the XPS 600 maxed out with the dual core HT processor, etc. Is there a faster machine available out there? I looked at the recommended system thread but that appeared to be for people looking to save money. I'm not worried about price, just want a system that can handle lots of tracks and plug-ins. Is there a recommended "high-end" system?
Thanks.

If I got hosed... that would make me a Hoser wouldn't it? LOL
No, that would make you the Hosee , and your webhosting company would be the Hoser .

Just checked and I was wrong about the price of the bandwidth. 200G per month is whopping $8.96 USD. For $14.95 you get 400G per month. See for yourself.

Dave, you seem like a pretty smart guy. But it seems to me your company is selling you FUTURE bandwidth for 5 years at TODAYs prices. In five years web hosting companies may be paying YOU to use their bandwidth! Well, I'm sure you know what you are doing. Good luck, my Hosed friend!
Dude your prices are for the first 3 months. Your actual package over 5 years would cost me 1500$ CDN I don't need 400G/mo and definately not the 1500$ bucks over 5 years. My deal cost me 495$ one time. You need math skills bro...
