Default Bounced PT WAV Not Recognized by Other Apps

I've created a bunch of 44/16 drum samples in PT. Multiple applications do not recognize the files as valid WAV files. I Googled the problem. It appears that PT creates a broadcast WAV and many applications are looking for a simple WAV.

A couple questions:
1) How do I convert the samples I have from broadcast to simple WAV?
2) How do I set PT so the bounce is to a simple WAV as a default?

Thanks for any help.

  1. You can use iTunes to batch convert to simple wavs.
  2. You can't.
In iTunes, set the Import Settings to Wav and Auto, and uncheck the "Copy files when adding" option under the Advanced tab. Drag all your samples into iTunes, select them all and choose "Create Wav version" under the Advanced menu. Once done copying, select all of the sample (original and copies) and delete, sending the new files to the trash. Fish the samples out of the trash bin and you will now have simple wav files.
