Default "Pro Tools Trying to Install Helper Tool?"

After deleting some cache from my system to fix a different problem, I am now getting the notice "Pro Tools Is Trying to Install the Helper Tool, Please Enter Your Computer Password To Allow."

I put in my computer password and it keeps popping up with the same message. It never installs the thing or gets past the notice. This is utterly annoying as hell.

What gives?

Clearly I deleted something, but I can't tell why this would've occurred. I tried a clean install and I still get the issue.

This is really a nasty little error coming up here. I absolutely cannot get past the "helper tool" message. No matter how many times I put in my Admin Mac password.

Anyone ever have this?

Can't get past Splash screen of PT. Tried to uninstall 12.3 and reinstall. Did deleting Launch Daemons, Launch Agents really cause this havoc?

UPDATE HERE: As crazy as it sounds, the issue seemed to be coming from my Apollo interface. I turned off my Apollo, waited about 15 minutes, restarted my computer, turned the Apollo back on and it seemed to resolve the issue. I can't say whether this will fix the issue for other users, but it did for me. The whole time I was trying different software fixes, but never thought about the hardware. Silly me.

I got the exact same issue. Only difference is that I don't use a external audio interface..

Also the error started appearing after I had my laptop "repaired" at Apple. I called them up and the only thing they changed about the software was delete some malware.

Turning off the computer doesn't solve anything so I am at the point of reinstalling El Capitan. If anybody knows something about this helper tool and if it's possible to install it manually, please let me know.

SOLVED

After two weeks of deleting everything that had anything to do with Pro Tools and having been in contact with Apple(Who recommended a complete new install of the WHOLE software I figured it out with the help of a Avid support member.

All I had to do is delete the AVID files in the PrivilegedHelperTools folder. This is located in /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools.

More on this you can find in http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/t...alled-properly

Hello

Yes - i am stuck with this too - Send a "support case"

I am really angry !!!

How can a software company release something like that !!!!

Tried a lot of tricks already .. But nothing helped.

Inserted my password about 45 times - hoping that it might go past one point, ... nothing !!

Get me notified if AVID sends a bugfix or a new installer

Angry !!!

If I'm not mistaken, the 'helper tool' is the Pace software for your iLok2. This is a shot in the dark, but you might want to find the folder it's installed in and make sure it's 'visible'.

Thanks Selle for the help. com.avid.bsd.shoetoolv120 is the file that for me needed to be deleted since I have several other Avid files like Sibelius and Media composer.
