Default Bounce handler can not keep up (-9132) - BUG

Hi all,

I am getting an error

" Bounce handler can not keep up (-9132)"

when trying to bound down a single bass guitar track to 24bit Summed mono WAV.

Only plugins are the new Channel Strip on the track and a click track.

Its a 27" i7 iMAC with 8 gig men PT 10 so it should not be a processor problem. Seems like a bug to me.

It occurs about 7/8 of the way through the bounce.

No other Apps are running.

H/W Buffer size is all the way up at 1024

help 8-)

27" iMAC (2010) i7 8GB
Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2
Protools 10
Digi002 Console

Any Digi rep aware of this issue? Happened to me as well. I opened an older PT9 session to recall a mix and every time I bounce it, this error happens. I stopped bouncing since PT10 because of the other issue I had, where a "blip" noise would be at the very end of the bounced file.

I now setup an aux "master bus" track that is routed into a stereo audio track to record the mix...
Unfortunately, switching the track over to record on an open stereo track at this time has issues. Mainly the old version had a master fader, where I had mastering plugin's and master fader volume adjustments. The thing is, the master fader volume adjustments are made pre plugins, whereas a stereo aux track the volume automation is post plugins. I tried having two aux tracks, one with the master fader automation, going into the master plugin's aux and that going in to a stereo audio track to record the mix.... but A/B comparison was still a bit off.

I hope someone is aware of this. I think there are major buffer bugs on pt10. Check out a few other threads in the forum. The older sessions that are really plug in heavy that required playback in 1024 in pt8 or pt9 aren't playing back in pt10 at any buffer size. I had to remove a load of plug ins to get playback and a bounce. I got a message while playing back in another session saying elastic audio not able to keep up. I posted the error number in another thread. Sounds like all problems are related by bad buffering bugs possibly? It's not a good thing for sure. I'm on an imac and 003 with pt10 upgraded from pt 8. No one wants to have to work on sessions that ultimately will not work in the next version. That's the opposite of what should be happening.

Agreed 8-(

Especially as Buffer and cache improvements were one of the PT10 selling points

try adjusting the avid coreaudio manager buffer setting to 1024 after pro tools is closed. it's in the pro tools folder in the Avid folder. that and the install of the new driver from the driver page seemed to get mine working now. i didn't do any reinstalls. just that. check one of my other posts for the full breakdown of what i did. it worked for some, but not for all. i'm sure avid will get around to everyone eventually. hopefully sooner than later.

Dear Avid Tech support, This is really becoming a major pain in the rear end.

Please have you looked into this yet?

P.S. Replaced my Now faulty Digi 002 with a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56. Problem still exists even at 1024 sample buffer size.

Even occurs when bouncing to MP3 now.

Argh!!!!

I can't believe this from the industry leader.!!!!

P.P.S. Doesn't seem to occur when using windows 7 as a host OS, however that has other stability issues when recording..

Not a long-term solution but can you bounce it without the Channelstrip plug? You could add the channelstrip to the bounced track and try again then. This has worked for me in the past where, for some reason, one or two particular tracks just seemed to have issues. Another option would be to try duplicating the track and seeing if the duplicate will bounce.
