Default Audio Clip Mixer

Hi again,

Thanks once again to everyone who has responded to my previous threads on this forum. That's much appreciated.

I was wondering if Pro Tools had an Audio clip mixer, rather than the standard audio track mixer?

I would like to change the volume of two different clips on the same track, but with a mixer (rather than an individual slider next to the track).

I'm working in Audio Post and I have lots of SFX which I want at different volumes, different pans, but most of the SFX are on the same track as each other.

Clip Gain.

Either show the Clip Gain line or just adjust the small volume slider in the bottom left of the clip.

No, not that I'm aware of.

Sardi's tip.
Pro Tools Ultimate users can also choose to display Clip Effects. Each clip can contain live Gain, Phase, EQ, Gate, and Compression/Limiting adjustments - which use virtually zero DSP power (each section can be "powered off"). You can save instant presets which can by applied be selecting single/multiple clips and pressing one of the 1-5 buttons in the Clip Effects window.
Apparently a session containing these can be read in non-Ultimate, but not changed - so be mindful who you are collaborating with.

Avid Tutorial: (try to get past the introductory zoom-garbled voiceover . . . it switches once Andrew Hage starts talking)

this guy Ryan Demaree's quite good too, and quickly explains it:

tip: download a higher-resolution mp4 video by going to one of the many YouTube>MP4 converter sites which will allow you to save a 1080p version of the video - such as this one
