Can I activate a new perpetual if my subscription is about to expire?

My PT subscription is expiring soon.
I'd like to purchase a new perpetual.
What would be the process for this?

Also, if I'd like to activate it with only days left on my subscription, can I simply deactivate the subscription licenses in my iLok account and activate the perpetual?

Or do I have to create a new account?

Buy the perpetual but let it hang on your Avid Account until subscription runs out. Then activate it to your ilok account

I see, I can REGISTER my purchase to my AVID account and the ACTIVATION can take place later within the iLok manager.

I was confusing registration with activation.

If you REDEEM your code, the clock starts ticking. But if you HAVE the code available, you can wait.

Ahhh yes. Thanks for that reminder.
I'll just set it aside until I'm ready to use it.
I can just enjoy the remainder of my subscription and savor that I have a new perpetual that's ready when I am.
