Default 192 DB25 pin out???

Hi, i did a search but did not get anything: is the pinout on a DB25 on a 192 the same as the Tascam standard for the analog i/o? Then, is the AES digital DB25 Tascam or Yamaha, or does digi have it's own pinout? Trying to demo some gear and have a bunch of tascam DB25 snakes, and a yamaha AES DB25 8 ch. i/o snake, will these work? ? Any info greatly appreciated.
regards, Sean

The AES is definitely not the same pinout as Yamaha.

The analog I/O on the 192 is the same pinout as the Tascam. I can use my Tascam DA-88 I/O snakes on my 192.
See page 33, 34 in the 192 Guide. Page 12 in the DA-88 Owner's Manual.

The TDIF connector is the Tascam digital connection. This should connect to a TDIF connector on any other Tascam equipment.
See page 35 in the 192 Guide.

I don't know about the AES/EBU connector. Any Tascam equipment from the DA-88 on back required a separate breakout box (IF-88AE) to convert TDIF to AES/EBU. It's possible newer equipment has this standard.
Have you read page 6 in the 192 Guide? Your sampling rate may determine the compatibility with other equipment.

thanks guys, I actually don't have a 192 (so no manual) but one is coming into my studio soon for a session. I have some apogee converters which use those tascam analog db25 snakes so I am good on the analog i/o apparantly. I just need to make sure of the aes. I do have a tascam IF-88 8 ch. AES to TDIF converter, if the 192 has a TDIF AES format then I can make that work... thanks again, Sean

phatboi,

you could, of course, download the 192 I/O manual from Digi’s website, read and get the relevant details first-hand and from the horse’s mouth, which also features diagrams. No hearsay; no guesses; no waiting for answers.

Thusly empowered, you would then prepare. With all that behind you, you’d be able to sit back* and wait for the arrival of clients and gear — sporting a shiny ear-to-ear grin and basking in that special glow that only comes from the knowledge of having fulfilled a professional responsibility.

* Cocktails optional.

IHTH.

Ok, it only took about an hour of my time to find this simple information:
the pinouts for the 192 analog and AES digital are both to the Tascam pinout standard. thanks guys.

"it only took about an hour" Ouch!!! Hmmm. . . it would have been about 5 minutes to download and click to the right page in the manual. Maybe Andre is right on this read the manual thing he keeps mentioning for some reason.

On the other hand, if he is still on dialup internet (like I am at home) then it might have taken an hour to download the manual...
