Default 192 i/os not detected

My system does not detect the 192 i/o interfaces (2). I have restarted and power cycled many times and checked all connections. I had this same problem when I first added my Accel card a few months ago. . . but after a number of restarts it finally found the interfaces. Not today.

Another strange things is DigiTest sees the cards as follows:
0 HD accel
1 HD Core
2 HD Process
3 HD Process

But they are physically in the slots in the order
HD Core
HD Accel
HD Process
HD Process

DigiTest passes all card. However when I look at the Slot info the the Core Card the secondary Peripheral Information -> Peripheral Family: says "Firmware Missing!" and the Primary peripheral says Firmware 0.0. I doubt anything from Digi is version 0.0.

The first 192 i/o is plugged into the HD core and the second jumpered to the first HD card.

The only thing I have changed today is my 21" CRT monitor was upgraded to a 20.5" Dell LCD.

WTF?

OK, I deleted a bunch of DAE and ProTools preferences. . . the Interfaces are now detected and also show up in DigiTest with v3.0 firmware. . .

Very strange that this happened randomly. Also I still wonder what is going on with the order the cards show up in DigiTest.

I had this today, but mine says firmware missing and if I click on the next card and then back to HD Core it shows the 192 with the firmware v3.0 this is very strange??

Anybody out there with any ideas why this happens

Nice find, you revived a thread almost two decades ago

Anyway, whatever software version you are using, first you need to upgrade firmware of the Core card, then reboot and another check suggests you need to upgrade firmware of the boxes if that is necessary at all.

It says my boxes are on firmware 3.0
Here is a screen shot of the slot info

If I change from 5 HD Core Card to 4 HD Accel and then back to 5 HD Core it shows that port 1 primary peripheral is the same as expansion peripheral??

It says firmware is missing. You need to ask that from Avid.

I doubt I’d get any help from them as the unit is so old. Strange thing is it’s all been working fine today. I hate problems like that because you never know if it’s going to let you down again
