Default Core Audio on New Intel iMac

hi,

I'm thinking of buying a one of them new fangled Intel iMacs.
I am aware that PT is not supporting Uninversal Binary at this stage.
However I'm also using LogicPro7 as my main production/composition tool.
Apple "promise" support by March 31 or some such.

Does Digi or anyone know if the 002 stand alone core audio drivers will work on one of these new intel machines?

I'd bet against it - the current Digi Core Audio driver is PowerPC code, and it's not the sort of thing you could run under Rosetta.

I think a main reason for the delay is more in the driver department, as well. PT might run fine under Rossetta, but the drivers to connect with the hardware most likely won't work. MOTU has announced that new drivers will be needed to use thier interfaces with the Intel Macs.

I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better off jumping on one of the G5 iMac's while they are still available.

Right now the Intel macs are not supported at all, so I wouldn't buy one hoping to run Protools.
