Default PT8 and the Music Production Toolkit - Upgrade?

Hi all..

OK.. i may be stupid, but i've looked and can't seem to find what the status is if you use the current 7.4 version of the MPT, in terms of upgrading to PT8. Do you just buy the standard version 8 and it recognises the MPT on my iLok? Or do i have to Upgrade to the new MPT?

Any thoughts?

MC

I believe your current MPTK will work with 8.0. At the moment at least there are no download links for a updated MPTK installers for 8.0.

I would try it and see.

I do beleive that you current MPTK will unlock 64 tracks instead of 48 now also.

yes you just use the old MPTK, you will still get 64 tracks like MPTK2 gets. I think the only difference if you decide to upgrade to MPTK2 is that you get Eleven LE (instead of Eleven Free that comes with PT8) , and structure LE i believe? I hardly use VI's but I decided to pay the $50 upgrade to MPTK2 for Eleven LE just for rough tracks. I hate guitar amp sim plugs but so far this ist he best I've used and the better it is the more I will enjoy the rough guitar tracks I am working with.
